Wn305 Omonville la Petite
Beachfront bunker site with three classic Atlantikwall structures
Wn305 site overview
What to see
A stones’ throw from the Channel Islands Alderney and Guernsey, this area on the north west of the Cotentin peninsula was bristling with Atlantikwall defensive builds including artillery gun batteries, a twin railway gun site, numerous radar stations, and a large number of small, beachfront defensive positions.
Wn305 stands in a beautiful bay near the village of Omonville la Petite and features three remaining easily accessible structures from the Second World War, although many more were originally built here.
On the edge of the beach, you can find a trio of classic Atlantikwall builds – a Vf58c Tobruk for a machine gun, an open emplacement for a 5cm KwK anti-tank gun, and a pillbox-type building for a machine gun.
