Gr10 Coudeville Plage
Single gun casemate north of Granville port

Gr10 site overview

What to see
Part of the much larger complex defending the extensive port at Granville, this small outlying site to the north of Granville was known as Gr10 and features just one remaining structure.
On the beach at Coudeville Plage, facing to the north, you can find a single R667 casemate built for a 5cm KwK anti-tank gun.
These weapons were from early Panzers but became obsolete as Allied armour improved. Instead of scrapping them, thousands of these guns would be positioned at coastal sites along the Atlantikwall.
The casemate is almost completely buried by sand and rocks placed to protect the promenade from the sea.
