Tre012 Le Treport

Inland batterie covering east side of port

Tre012 Le Treport site overview

What to see

The port town of Le Treport was one of the most heavily defended sites in this area of Normandy with more than a dozen bunker sites constructed on the coast and inland.
Tre012 is one of the inland sites and was a field gun batterie which still features four R669 type gun casemates and several supporting, small shelter/ammo storage buildings and an observation post.
Located on the eastern side of the town, Tre012 was home to four 10cm Czech-built guns which were positioned in range of the port and all face west towards the town.
The site stands on private farmland which is in daily use, so access is difficult without permission and precautions. The casemates can be found in poor condition, while the smaller buildings in the woodland behind the batterie have suffered from ingress of tree roots and are quite overgrown.
