Tre01 Le Treport
Air-raid shelter and MG post at Mers-les-Bains

Tre01 Le Treport site overview

What to see
Just two buildings remain at Tre01 which stands in the town of Mers-les-Bains on the northern side of the Le Treport port area.
Closest to the town is a large air-raid shelter which has been steadily built around over the past few years and is now difficult to spot from Rue Julien Hedin or Rue Maurice Dupont between which it stands.
The other construction is a field constructed machine gun post directly on the beach to the north Mers-les-Bains and you can see this building easily at the end of Esplanade du General Leclerc.
As you can see it’s a construction made from local brick and quarried stone rather than the heavy duty poured concrete of most German bunkers and casemates, helping it to blend in with the cliff face and houses it shares a location with.
Both buildings were part of a much larger complex of defensive bunkers which have now been removed or buried under the expanding town.
