Die013 Neuville-les-Dieppe

Defensive site covering south east of Dieppe port

Die013 Neuville-les-Dieppe site overview

What to see

Located at Neuville-les-Dieppe – south east of the port area - you can find the remains of several buildings which once formed a defensive site designed to protect the south east area of the town and port in Dieppe.
There are around a dozen concrete constructions here, although most of them are now buried and only the concrete roofs can be seen. They all stand on private land and cannot be accessed without permission.
Standing in the ground of a chateau are two Vf2a shelters – both buried under vegetation - and a R677 casemate for an 88mm Pak 43/41 gun positioned to fire inland and defend the area to the rear of the port.
Around 500m away to the south west is a second cluster of buildings with a Vf7a ammo bunker, a Vf2a group shelter, R501, R502, and R622 personnel shelters, an MG Tobruk, and a relatively rare Vf57a dressing station/command post.
These run alongside the D485 road and are located on agricultural land which is not accessible to the public.
