"Ensuring the story of D-Day is never forgotten"

Designed by John Everiss, the ‘D-Day 75 Garden’ was commissioned by veterans’ charity D-Day Revisited ahead of the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Their aim was to pay tribute to surviving D-Day veterans and respectfully remember those who lost their lives in the battle to liberate Normandy.
At the heart of the design are four British soldiers making their way past the beach obstacles amongst the waves landing on Gold Beach.
The ‘D-Day 75 Garden’ was exhibited at the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, before being officially gifted to the Mayor of Arromanches-les-Bains by Normandy veterans and The Hon. Henry Montgomery & Lady Arabella Stuart-Smith (grandchildren of Field Marshall Montgomery, Ist Viscount of Alamein) on the 6th of June 2019.
Overlooking Gold Beach and the Mulberry Harbour, the Garden will remain as a lasting legacy to help ensure the story of D-Day is never forgotten.
