Wn35 Ver-sur-Mer
Small beachfront complex in front of big gun batterie
Wn35 site overview
What to see
Positioned on the seafront, Wn35 stands at the midway point between Asnelles and Ver-sur-Mer and behind it a flooded marsh area and Stp35a Batterie Mont Fleury on the hillside further inland.
A network of trenches linked a series of machine guns positions, personnel shelters and a 1694 type Ringstand for a 5cm KwK anti-tank gun of which remains can still be found.
Two open emplacements were constructed for anti-aircraft guns at the rear of the site. These would have been in place to defend the main gun batterie on the hillside behind.
Today the site stands on the beach in front of the new British Normandy Memorial.
