Wn168 Leyer

Large observation bunker for Batterie Todt

Wn168 Leyer site overview

What to see

Just one building makes up Wn168 Leyer, a large observation bunker which stands on the edge of the cliffs which played a key role as one of the fire control posts for the huge Batterie Todt guns.

Facing west it has a commanding view over the sea, however this special construction bunker is overgrown and buried by soil to the rear but is accessible, with care, through the observation opening at the front.
Inside you’ll find multiple rooms in various states of disrepair but the remaining marks on the walls, pipework, and tiles allow you to spot personnel and communications rooms off a long central corridor which doglegs into the viewing position at the front.
