Just two remnants of Stp Dieter can be found in the dunes behind the beach at Leffrinckoucke on the eastern outskirts of Dunkirk – a small open emplacement and an ammunition storage shelter.
Here a 5cm KwK anti-tank gun was positioned, and it would have been able to pivot through 180 degrees to over the long beachfront to the east and west of the location.
The emplacement is around 40 metres back from the modern promenade but can be difficult to spot depending on the shifting sands in the dunes covering it over on occasions.
