Stp Anna

Borderland bunkers at the most easterly Atlantikwall site in France

Stp Anna site overview

What to see

The most easterly of the bunker sites in northern France straddling the France-Belgium border, most of the buildings here are of French origin.
Easily overrun as German forces stormed their way from the low countries to occupy France in 1940, the concrete defences here were boosted by several German additions as they sought to protect their newly acquired lands.
The site stands in the extensive Bray Dunes sand dune system which surrounds an extensive camping and holiday park and runs alongside the border from the D60 coast road to the sailing club and beach with several buildings now hidden by static caravans.
There are more than a dozen remaining buildings including original French observation posts, troop shelters, and machine gun positions with the addition of German-built Tobruks and R668 type six man bunkers. The easiest to spot is one of the R668 bunkers next to the main road between the inland and beachside parts of the camping complex.
