This was once a formidable batterie with four open emplacements for field guns positioned to protect the wide beach in front of Villers-sur-Mer.
They were supported by three R621 group shelters, a R141c personnel shelter with water supply, and a rare R196 a water supply bunker with 40 cubic metre capacity.
A R668 personnel bunker stands at the front of the site and its crew would have maintained security on the crossroads of the main D116 road and the road inland form the town of Villers-sur-Mer.
The main site stands in the fields of an equestrian centre and few of the constructions can be seen without permission and even then, they are difficult to get a clear view of due to woodland undergrowth.
The open emplacements have been filled in and only a rough outline remains with the prominent ammunition niches easily seen amongst stables on the grazing land used by the horses.
