Vill018 Blonville-sur-Mer
Beachfront bunker site partially buried under modern houses

Vill018 site overview

What to see
Vill018 stands on the south west outskirts of Blonville-sur-Mer near to a camping site and the remaining buildings here have done well to survive the expansion of the area.
Although two of the five structures – the R622 personnel shelter and field garage - are used as foundations for two houses.
A R680 casemate for a 7.5cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun is the largest of the structures which still line the beachfront and there’s also a Tobruk next to it.
The site also has a Vf3 bunker near to the beach in a private garden, but it can be viewed from the beach and the D513 road running along the coast. This bunker was an observation and machine gun post, offering a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.
