A single R604 bunker – a garage for a wheeled field gun, ammunition, and its crew – is the only building remaining at Trou026 at Trouville-sur-Mer.
It can be found on private property on the Rue de General Leclerc behind the tourist promenade to the north of the port area which splits Trouville and Deauville.
The bunker would provide protection for the gun – likely a 7.5cm calibre weapon - which could be deployed quickly when needed and could fire in any direction from a platform nearby.
The R604 can’t be accessed by the public as it is in use by the home owners, but you can see the huge scale of the building from the road.
