Luftwaffe station 'Falke'
Listening station disguised as Normandy farm buildings

Luftwaffe station 'Falke' site overview

What to see
This is a deceiving site. Located in a field at Callenville, north west of the port town of Deauville, you can see what looks like a traditional Norman-style farm with lush fields and several agricultural buildings and a farmhouse.
However, these buildings hide what was once a WW2 German communications centre.
It was one of three sites in Normandy – the other two are west of Cherbourg and at Mortain – which were used to capture and analyse Allied radio transmissions.
Designated as ‘Falke’ this Luftwaffe listening station featured three large antenna in the field alongside a transmission/communications building disguised as a house, personnel shelters, and a small garage, perhaps for the station commander’s vehicle.
